Push to Open Drawer Slides
Push to open slides replace the handle. Press the drawer front and a spring mechanism releases and pushes the drawer out a few inches, then you pull it the rest of the way. They are the hardware behind handleless kitchen and bathroom fronts, where there is no pull to grab. Our push to open range starts with the 100 lb push-to-open side mount slide (F1245) and also covers the P4510, which adds soft close so the drawer pulls itself shut again.
Push to open is a feature layer on top of a normal ball bearing slide, so you still get full extension and a real load rating. It is not a lighter mechanism. The trade is that the drawer front needs a small gap to press against, and a plain push-to-open slide does not damp the close, so it will bang unless the model is built for both.
Use push to open for handleless kitchen islands, bathroom vanities, and minimalist cabinetry where a visible handle breaks the design. If you want the handleless look but also a quiet close, pick a combined push-to-open and soft-close model.

Push to Open Drawer Slides FAQ
How does push to open work?
A spring in the slide holds tension when the drawer is closed. Pressing the front compresses and trips the spring, which pushes the drawer out a few inches so you can grab it. Releasing it back in re-cocks the spring.
Do I need a handle with push to open slides?
No. That is the point. Push to open is used for handleless fronts. The drawer front needs a small reveal or gap to press against, so plan the gap when you build the cabinet.
Can push to open be combined with soft close?
Only on models designed for both, such as our P4510. The two mechanisms work against each other, so fitting them separately to one drawer usually leaves it half open. Pick a combined model if you want both.
Will push to open work on a heavy drawer?
It depends on the rating of the slide underneath. Our push-to-open slides are sized for the load they carry, 100 lb for the F1245, so match the rating to the drawer like any other slide.
Why does my push to open drawer bounce back?
Usually the spring is not fully tripped, or the drawer front has no gap to press against. Make sure there is a small reveal, press firmly, and confirm the slide is the combined or push-to-open type rated for the load.
Are push to open slides full extension?
Yes. Our push-to-open models are full extension, so the whole drawer clears the cabinet face just like a standard ball bearing slide. The push mechanism does not shorten the travel.
Not sure which rating fits your build? Start from the heaviest thing the drawer will ever carry, then add a 25–30% safety margin. Request a quote or contact the AOLISHENG team and we will confirm the right model from your cabinet opening width and drawer length.
