Heavy Duty Basic Series — 1 models available

Heavy Duty Basic Series, Full Extension Without the Extras

The AOLISHENG heavy duty basic series is the plain build of our heavy slide range: a three-section, full extension ball bearing rail with no lock and no soft-close damper. The model in this series is the A2576 500 lb heavy duty side mount slide, rated 500 lb (227 kg) and cut from 2.5 mm Q235 cold-rolled steel.

Stripping the lock and the damper is not a downgrade. A basic rail has fewer moving parts to fail, no damper to gum up with sawdust or grease, and no lock lever to snag on a loaded drawer. That is why workshop fixtures, truck toolboxes and industrial cabinets are usually specified on a plain rail. You get the full load rating and the full extension travel for less money per pair.

The trade is that nothing holds the drawer shut and nothing slows it down at the end of the travel. On a vehicle or a rolling cabinet that matters, so choose a locking slide instead. On a stationary cabinet or a workbench drawer, the basic rail is usually the better value.

Choose the Basic Series When

  • The drawer stays put when closed, so a lock is not needed, such as a workbench or a warehouse shelf drawer.
  • The environment is dusty, greasy or gritty, where a soft-close damper would clog.
  • You are buying volume and want the lowest cost per pair at a given load rating.
  • You want the simplest possible field replacement, with no lock mechanism to align.
  • The load is high, 500 lb in the A2576, and you would rather spend the budget on steel thickness than on features.

Installation Notes for the A2576

  • Allow 0.78 in (19.7 mm) of clearance on each side of the drawer.
  • Keep both rails parallel; misalignment is the usual cause of binding.
  • Mounting screws are not included; source M6 screws to suit your cabinet material.
  • Rails start at 18 in and load capacity decreases as the slide gets longer, so size for the longest drawer in the run.
  • The slide is not designed to be disassembled.

Heavy Duty Basic Series FAQ

What does basic mean on a heavy duty slide?

It means the plain full extension build: three-section rails, ball bearings, no locking lever and no soft-close damper. The load rating and the extension travel are the same as the featured versions of the same rail.

How much weight does the basic series carry?

The A2576 in this series is rated 500 lb (227 kg) as a pair. That rating applies at the shortest available length and decreases as the slide length increases, so check the rating for the size you are buying.

Is a basic slide stronger than a soft-close or locking slide?

The rail and the bearings are the same. A basic slide is not stronger, but it has fewer parts, so there is less to wear out or clog in a dirty environment.

Can I add a lock or a damper later?

No. Locking and soft-close are built into the rail at manufacture. If you need either feature, buy the locking or soft-close version of the same capacity instead.

What clearance does the A2576 need?

0.78 in (19.7 mm) on each side of the drawer, measured between the drawer side and the cabinet wall.

Where is the basic series usually used?

Workshop and garage cabinets, industrial machinery drawers, warehouse shelving, truck toolboxes and vehicle storage where the drawer does not need to stay latched in motion.
